About The Bridge
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide a pathway in to the arts through a new creative artistic residency for emerging disabled young artists aged 18-30 from in and across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Disabled artists face enormous barriers in becoming professional artists, a lack of post education provision, a drop off in support post age 25 at a critical time for developing artistic identity and career building
The disabled participants will work alongside experienced arts professionals from the region to workshop and develop their creative ideas, develop arts skills and learn about opportunities to progress in theatre, music, dance and production.
Participants will work collaboratively to create a sharing of work at the end of the project in June 2026 to an invited audience of supporting partners and arts organisations local to Nottingham(shire) who want to connect and support local disabled creatives. Organisations who have already pledged to support to the future development and legacy of the project.
The aim of the project is to support emerging disabled Nottinghamshire based artists to develop skills, create connections, explore ambitions, opportunities and long term employment in the arts.
